The Brussels Ferry isn't operating right now due to ice on the Illinois River.

It happens at this time of year -- rivers freeze. Well, ice on the Illinois River has again shut down the Brussels Ferry.

The ferry is used to get people (and their cars) from Route 100 near Grafton to Calhoun County  - or vice-versa - in Illinois. The Department of Transportation says the ferry will remain closed until it's safe for its operation.

The Kampsville Ferry is also closed, so IDOT suggests trying the Hardin Bridge. Or you can check IDOT's website to see what's open and what's not.
