KMOV-TV is reporting that six people were arrested during a protest Monday at the Bank of America branch in downtown Clayton.
According to the report:
The protest is sparked by the case of south St. Louis residents Mike and Mary Boehm. ... After Mike Boehm lost his job in 2009 they applied for and were told they qualified for a loan modification from the Bank of America. The Boehms say that despite making all the payments under their loan modification agreement, they were notified by the bank that foreclosure proceedings would begin the day after Christmas.
Police had apparently told the three dozen or so protesters that if they tried to enter the bank, in the 7800 block of Forsyth, they would be arrested.
The protest was the brainchild of a group called Missourians Organized for Reform and Empowerment, or MORE.
