A judge in Cape Girardeau has postponed approval of a $1.5 million settlement in a woman's death at the home of former Anheuser-Busch CEO August Busch IV.
Busch had offered the settlement to a lawsuit filed by the ex-husband of Adrienne Martin, who died of a drug overdose Dec. 19 in Busch's mansion near St. Louis.
Circuit Judge William Syler ruled Tuesday that he will hold a hearing June 29 to determine whether the amount is appropriate and how it should be distributed.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Syler also blocked Martin's parents from joining the lawsuit, but they could still argue for a portion of the proceeds.
Busch's attorneys have said their client wanted the settlement to go to Martin's 8-year-old son.
