Lambert -St. Louis International Airport is seeing an increase in passengers for the third straight month.
In June, the airport experienced a 4.4 percent increase in the number of departing passengers, which matches the numbers from a year ago.
Airport spokesman Jeff Lea says the airport is recovering from tough economic times in 2009 and 2010.
“This is really good news that we’re starting to uptick again, and I think that’s a credit to the overall economy and just activity here in the St. Louis region as well," Lea said. "And you just have the summer season where more folks are traveling. ”
Lea says repairs to Concourse C, which was heavily damaged during the April tornado, are proceeding. But there is still no time table for reopening the Concourse, and bids are just now going out to contractors.
