A doctor from rural central Missouri faces four federal felonies for allegedly selling drugs, including narcotics and anti-depressants.
U.S. attorney Richard Callahan announced the charges against Keith Dale Morris of Krakow today. Morris is alleged to have distributed a variety of medications without a legitimate medical purpose, including amphetamine salts (used in anti-hyperactivity drugs like Adderall), the painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone, and alprazolam, which is the active ingredient in drugs like Xanax. The crimes allegedly took place between April 2008 and July 2010.
Morris, 47, would face a maximum of more than 50 years in prison, but federal sentencing guidelines will likely lead to a lighter sentence.
