Schedule changes and Christmas tree recycling for city trash customers

St. Louis City is reminding residents of changes to the trash/recycling collection schedule due to the holidays. The schedule is below:

Week of December 26, 2011

  • Residents who normally have  trash and/or recycling collected on Monday and Thursday will have it collected on Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Thursday, Dec. 29.
  • Resident who normally have trash and/or recycling collected on Tuesday and Friday will have it collected on Wednesday, Dec. 28 and Friday, Dec. 30.

Week of January 2, 2011:

  • Residents who normally have trash and/or recycling collected on Mondays and Thursdays will have it collected on Tuesday, Jan. 3 and Thursday, Jan. 5.
  • Resident who normally have trash and/or recycling collected on Tuesdays and Fridays will have it collected on Wednesday, Jan. 4 and Friday, Jan. 6.

The Holiday Trash Pickup schedule is posted on the Refuse Division website. 

Christmas tree recycling available Dec. 27 through Jan. 13 at three city parks:

  • Forest Park (Lower Muny Opera parking lot)
  • O'Fallon Park (West Florissant and Holly at picnic grounds #4)
  •  Carondelet Park (Grand and Holly Hills, area between gate and recycling containers).

According to the City of St. Louis, the trees will be ground into mulch, which will be free for pickup at the same locations. Fake or plastic trees will not be accepted.

Trees must be free of all decorations.
