A series of performances at Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts will blur the lines separating art, theater and social work to break down barriers among people and communities.

“Staging Reflections of the Buddha,” opening Thursday, is a collaboration of The Pulitzer, Prison Performing Arts, St. Patrick Center and Employment Connection. For the past five months, PPA has led the actors in weekly workshops that included exploring their relationships with the works of the current “Reflections of the Buddha” exhibition.
Theater pieces created during these workshops not only connect the actors with the art but also with the audiences. “Their journeys unite with ours through theater experiences amidst the art and through shared ritual,” Pulitzer community projects director Lisa Harper Chang said, in a press release.
The March 10 closing performance will precede a lantern ceremony.
