St. Louis police have arrested a suspect in an animal abuse case in north St. Louis.
The 31-year-old male was taken into custody yesterday afternoon. Police will seek charges against him today.

The reward has doubled for help in solving a horrific animal cruelty case in St. Louis where five dogs were found tortured at a vacant house near Union and Martin Luther King Blvds.
Donations from the community have increased Stray Rescue’s initial reward for information leading to an arrest to $10,000.
The animal shelter’s founder Randy Grim says in his 20 years on the job he’s never seen such cruelty.
“This was like a house of horrors," he said. "It’s like every kind of abuse you can think of was done in this house and that’s what makes it stand out. It’s not a regular abuse case; it’s multiple animals that were being tortured.”
Grim says animal abuse is a significant problem in the city and hopes this case will raise awareness about the issue.
