A St. Louis County woman is facing federal charges for allegedly trafficking counterfeit goods at a flea market and other stores in St. Louis and Ferguson.
Soukey Fox was arrested early this morning in a raid at Frison Flea Market in Pagedale. Federal law enforcement officials could be seen loading boxes into moving trucks behind the market.
Many customers say the place is known for selling cheap merchandise. Noah Hardy and Jazmine Wells say they were turned away this morning.
"We came here to shop. This is crazy. No one wants to come to a facility with the FBI that's raiding it," Wells said. " They're going to lose a lot of business. I mean, it's to my knowledge that some of the things were fake … but jeeze."
The federal indictment against Fox charges that she has been selling knock-off clothes, purses, and shoes since 2008. Authorities say some of the counterfeit goods came from China but Fox also kept an inventory of components to make counterfeit purses, including nearly 6,000 fake labels.
