On Thursday, February 18, over 100 people interested in volunteering met with dozens of charitable organizations at “Public Radio On Tap: Charities in St. Louis,” an event hosted by the Young Friends of St. Louis Public Radio.
The event featured representatives from 37 local charities for over a hundred participants to meet, greet, and inform others about their respective causes. The evening also included an informative panel discussion from Sylvester Brown of the Sweet Potato Project, Kathy Acre of BACK at YOU, Liz Sharpe-Taylor of ScholarShop, and Jackie Koerner of STL Pet Rescue. The panel was moderated by STLPR reporter Stephanie Lecci.
Local beer crafters 4 Hands Brewing Co. was also on hand to donate some of the refreshments for the evening.
The Young Friends of St. Louis Public Radio are an active group of young public radio listeners dedicated to furthering STLPR as a trusted source of information and entertainment that opens minds and nourishes the spirit.
