Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of summer for many folks, but this year, St. Louis Public Radio kicked summer off a little earlier with brews, brats, and baseball in the Public Media Commons.
Five local breweries, 2nd Shift Brewing, 4 Hands Brewing Company, the Old Bakery Beer Company, Perennial Artisan Ales, and Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, along with Classic Red Hots Catering, provided beer samples, hot dogs, and brats to a crowd of over 120 people.
The big draw, of course, was the projection of the baseball game in the Public Media Commons. The Commons, which opened in the fall of 2014, was able to show the game on two different facades in the cool night air.
“We had a fantastic turn out,” said Shannon Lischwe, STLPR’s event coordinator. “The game was great, and everyone had a great time. We’re looking forward to doing it again!”
For what it’s worth, the home team won 13-7, so it may be good luck to do it again very soon.
