Many Illinois measures will now head to Gov. J.B. Pritzker, including a bill that changes how damages accrue under Illinois’ first-in-the-nation biometric data privacy law.

Illinoisans who need a notary public can now access those services online through a new “E-Notary” portal launched by the secretary of state’s office.

The Illinois House also passed measures providing climate change-related professional development for teachers if funding is allocated; expanding pregnancy-related care, as well as adding transparency and reporting measures to prisoner medical release hearings.

Grants were awarded to farms across Illinois — including Saint Jacob-based DeMange Family Farms, which will use $106,000 to build an energy-efficient produce packing and storage building.
