Cinema St. Louis presents the 13th annual St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase July 14-18 at the Tivoli Theatre.
The goal of the Showcase is to highlight films written, directed, edited, or produced by St. Louis area natives or films with strong local ties.
Guest host Jim Althoff spoke with Chris Clark, Artistic Director of Cinema St. Louis, and two local directors. Denise Ward-Brown is the director of “Jim Crow to Barack Obama,” a film about intergenerational conversations between two groups of African Americans, elders and youth, who reflect and respond to stories of segregation and struggle.
Chris King also joined Althoff. King is the director of “Go South for Animal Index: A Fable of Los Alamos,” a film based on a poem of the same name which follows four storylines.
More information about all of the films, including show times, is available on Cinema St. Louis’ website.
