Visitors attending this year’s Ancient Order of the Hibernians' St. Patrick’s Day parade in Dogtown might need some luck of the Irish to find parking this year.
Changes in traffic restrictions at this year’s parade will close down more residential streets around the parade route, cutting off all parking within the Dogtown neighborhood. Only residents with passes will be allowed into the area.
In previous years, businesses have opened their parking lots to visitors and charged up to $20. Visitors can also park at the St. Louis Zoo South Parking Lot. Free parking will also be available in the Forest Park area, but parade-goers should keep in mind that police will be handing out tickets for illegal parking.
The parade begins at noon at the corner of Tamm and Oakland and ends at Tamm and Manchester.
Those looking to enjoy a meal or a drink after the parade should keep in mind that all businesses in Dogtown will close at 8 p.m. to help with crowd control.
