St. Louis landmark Citygarden has been named the recipient of the ULI Amanda Burden Urban Open Space Award.
The award "celebrates and promotes vibrant, successful urban open spaces by annually recognizing and rewarding an outstanding example of a public destination that has enriched and revitalized its surrounding community," according to the award's website.
Citygarden was selected over four other finalists split between two cities - Portland, Ore. with Director Park and Jamison Square and Houston, with Discovery Green and Raymond and Susan Brochstein Pavilion.
Citygarden was a joint entry into the competition from the City of St. Louis and the Gateway Foundation.
According to the St. Louis Beacon, "Rodney Crim, St. Louis Development Corp.'s executive director, is scheduled to accept the prize for Citygarden in Phoenix later today" at ULI’s Real Estate Summit.
