This article first appeared in the St. Louis Beacon: In Snapshots, illustrator Sam Washburn looks at a regional place or thing that has caught his attention. Recently he checked out the Newman Money Museum at Washington University.
It has a quirky pseudo-robot Ben Franklin in the basement that is essentially a TV screen projected into a plastic shell head, and age has caused the color to be, well, interesting.
The Beacon hopes these will make the reader smile in recognition, as often happened with his earlier series: Intersections.
