What if you held a pub crawl but replaced the alcohol with art?
You’d have the Contemporary Art Museum’s Open Studios Tour. Or at least one of the many ways you can experience the Oct. 3-4 event, according to CAM director Lisa Melandri.
Open Studios is a tour of nearly 200 artists’ spaces in the St. Louis area, an opportunity to peer into the artistic process. You can be part of a pre-planned bus, bike or walking tour, or customize your own. For example, you can choose a neighborhood like Cherokee Street, and poke your head in a number of studios (and possibly some pubs) in the district.
For some of the past nine years, it's been a sticky expedition. But in its tenth year of Open Studios, CAM is emphasizing the cooler temperatures that come with scheduling it in fall instead of summer, as well as the mobile app that helps participants organize their weekend.
