The NPR Tiny Desk Contest is open for entries through Feb. 10.

Are you an unsigned artist in Missouri or Illinois looking for national exposure?

NPR's Tiny Desk Contest is now accepting submissions for 2025. The annual event offers undiscovered musicians and bands the chance to play at NPR's headquarters in Washington, D.C., in the same spot as Missouri’s Chappell Roan and St. Louis’ own Foxing and Jordan Ward.

The main rule is simple: Perform an original song at a desk.

Other entry rules

  • You must be 18 or older and live in the U.S.
  • You cannot have a current record deal.
  • You must film a video that’s under 10 minutes of yourself performing one original song — no covers, no sampling — specifically for this contest and uploaded after Dec. 17, 2024.
  • Upload your video to YouTube and then submit your entry to the Tiny Desk website.
  • The contest is now open, and it runs until 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 10.

Check to see if you are eligible by taking NPR Tiny Desk’s rules quiz.

One winner will be chosen by NPR's panel of judges who will then be interviewed on All Things Considered and perform their own Tiny Desk concert in Washington.

In addition to being paired with a mentor in the industry, the winner will headline NPR Music’s multistop national Tiny Desk Contest on the Road tour.

From everyone at St. Louis Public Radio, we wish you the best of luck!
