Step into a world of melody and memory as Meghan Kirk revisits the songs that have been part of her life for the last 20 years. Once Upon a Song is a musical time capsule, unearthing treasured tunes from the Great American Songbook to the timeless hits of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.
With a voice that weaves nostalgia and storytelling into every note, Meghan breathes new life into classics from Jerome Kern and Rodgers & Hammerstein to the folk anthems, pop gems, and legendary works of Paul McCartney. Her longtime musical director Ron McGowan has been praised for his masterful arrangements, described as “ideally suited to her voice,” bringing depth and elegance to every performance. Joining them is Chris Meschede on bass, adding rhythm and warmth to this unforgettable evening.

Samantha Clemons returns to Blue Strawberry on April 17th! Fresh off a string of buzz-worthy singles released in 2024, her EP “Fair Warning” was named one of the best EPs of 2024 by New Noise Magazine. Samantha will be previewing her new single “Not A Drop,” set to release on April 18th She’ll also be performing favorites from her discography, joined by Zack Clark (bass), Jared McFarland (drums), and Chris Turnbaugh (guitar).
A genre-fluid singer-songwriter and musician based in St. Louis, Samantha Clemons is hard to pin down; but better that than being boxed in. Her soul-soaked sound finds its roots in the echoes of gospel choirs, jazz and blues rhythms that surrounded her during her childhood traveling the world as an Army brat. In her lyrics, Samantha offers up razor-sharp observations effortlessly and her ability to make common ground out of thin air is a gift hard-earned and liberally shared with her listeners. At once both deep and delicate, her vivid vibrato drips with emotion and vulnerability.
As NPR’s Pilar Fitzgerald noted of her 2021 Tiny Desk submission, "Clemons' voice is striking: secured in deep depths in one moment, then bursting like wildfire in the next. And just as complex as her range are her lyrics — the story she tells… is so beautifully imagined." In addition to NPR, Samantha’s music has also been highlighted by Rolling Stone, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Kansas City Star, and Dallas Observer.
