Family Sues City over Police Shooting

St. Louis, MO – A family is suing the city St. Louis for an incident in which police fired 28 shots into their car.

Emanual Khaafid suffered an arm injury after the indicident. Police say he was trying to flee a routine traffic stop when the officers started firing. Khaafid's wife and three young children were also in the car but not hurt.

St. Louis Police Chief Joe Mokwa fired one officer and suspended the other involved in the matter.

Khaafid's lawsuit says Khaafid also has a leg injury and nervous system damage. The family is being represented by attorney's in the same firm as Johnnie Cochran.
