St. Louis, MO – The Army Corps of Engineers is dredging the Mississippi River near the Edwards Jones Dome because water levels are so low.
Dredging will make the river deeper in some parts to allow more room for barges to navigate. The Corps is using its own boat, the Dredge Potter.
The Corps said Tuesday that barge companies can still operate normally at this point but might have to change schedules if the current drought continues.
