Edwardsville, Ill. – A large trucking company based in Wisconsin plans to open a repair and service center in the Metro-East city of Edwardsville.
Schneider National Incorporated plans to create more than 400 jobs with the 25,000 square foot facility.
Schneider, based in Green Bay, has been around for 71 years and has 36 sites in North America, more than 14,000 tractor-trailers and partnerships with more than 6,000 carriers.
The state of Illinois is awarding roughly $7 million in economic-development help to Schneider as part of the new operations center.
The site will be open around the clock and include showers, Internet access and other services, such as equipment maintenance and fuel.
