St. Louis – It's happening later and at a higher cost than first predicted, but the newest eight miles of Metrolink will open Saturday.
Rides will be free all weekend then a fare increase goes into effect Monday.
KWMU's Tom Weber spoke with Metro's President Larry Salci about the new line and new fares.
Salci said the extension runs through urban areas, and will feel different than the original path, which was built on old freight lines.
