Developer Paul McKee has paid his tax bill to the city of St. Louis.

St. Louis Public Radio reported in April that McKee's company, Northside Regeneration, had failed to pay more than $750,000 in real estate property taxes for 2013 and 2014. The company owns more than 2,000 parcels on the city's north side.

Deputy tax collector Tom Vollmer confirmed that McKee visited the city's Collector of Revenue Department on Thursday and paid more than $700,000.

"I'm 95 percent sure he's paid in full," Vollmer said. "We're dealing with 2,200 parcels, so if there are couple that were missed, he'll come in and pay those."

McKee's spokesman Jim Gradl declined to comment on Thursday, other than to say the developer had always said he would pay the bill. 

Mayor Francis Slay's office said much the same thing.

"As I said before, we fully expected Paul McKee to pay his taxes in full.  We're glad to see he has fulfilled that obligation today," Mary Ellen Ponder, the mayor's chief of staff, said in an emailed statement.
