The Missouri Senate has postponed debate on the massive tax credit bill which includes $360 million for a cargo hub at Lambert Airport in St. Louis.

Debate was set to begin this morning, but some senators asked President Pro-tem Rob Mayer (R, Dexter) for more time to read the 268-page bill, which he granted.

“Each member needs to go through that bill with a very close eye and scrutinize it and make certain that they know where they stand on the different provisions in the bill and be able to come back and offer healthy debate," Mayer said.

And that debate is now scheduled for Tuesday.  The Missouri Senate will reconvene on Monday to take up the “Facebook Fix” bill, along with any bills the Missouri House may pass tomorrow.

Senators were also scheduled today to attend a presentation by the Department of Economic Development on the projected costs and benefits of the Aerotropolis proposal, but that presentation was also postponed until next week.
