President Obama addressed the nation tonight on his administration's strategy for fighting the militant group ISIS, also known as ISIL or Islamic State.

As NPR reports, "President Obama said the United States plans to 'take out' the Islamic State "wherever they exist.'"

(Here's a helpful explainer about the name differences from the Wall Street Journal).

We carried NPR's live anchored coverage of the address starting at 8 p.m. CT.

Thanks for listening live with us on 90.7 FM, streaming our station online, downloading our mobile app or watching the speech with us (below).

For a full recap of the address, see NPR's The Two-Way's updates.

Earlier NPR reported on excerpts of the speech released today:

In a prime-time speech, President Obama will say the United States plans to "take out" the Islamic State "wherever they exist." That's according to excerpts of the speech released by the White House tonight. "With a new Iraqi government in place, and following consultations with allies abroad and Congress at home, I can announce that America will lead a broad coalition to roll back this terrorist threat," Obama will say. "Our objective is clear: we will degrade, and ultimately destroy, ISIL through a comprehensive and sustained counter-terrorism strategy."
