Nine cultural, educational and historical institutions in the St. Louis area will receive money as a part of $92.5 million in donations from the family of Enterprise Holdings founder Jack Taylor.
The family announced the gifts Wednesday, two weeks after $22 million in donations were made public by the Taylors.
“St. Louis offers an amazing number of cultural, educational, and historical treasures that are truly world-class, especially for a city our size,” President of Enterprise Holdings Foundation Jo Ann Taylor Kindle said in a statement.
She is the daughter of Enterprise’s founder Jack Taylor.
The biggest chunk of the donations announced Wednesday is $30 million that will go into the endowment fund of Forest Park Forever, an organization dedicated to the continuing restoration of the park.
“These contributions and the many gifts that came before them will enrich the life of our community for future generations. We are very lucky that the Taylors call St. Louis home,” president and executive director of Forest Park Forever, Lesley Hoffarth, said in a statement.
The City Arch River 2015 Foundation will receive $25 million, the second largest donation. This money will fund improvements to the Old Courthouse as well as go to the organization’s endowment fund.
