Washington, D.C. – The independent base closings commission voted today to close the Army National Guard Reserve Center at Jefferson Barracks.
The move will cost the area 67 jobs.
The nine-member panel also voted to close the Navy's recruiting district headquarter in Kansas City and to move a Marine Corps Mobilization Command center from Kansas City to New Orleans.
They have yet to vote on the fate of the Missouri National Guard's 131st Fighter Wing, at Lambert Airport in St. Louis.
