Springfield, Ill. – Candidates for governor in Illinois have expressed a wide variety of opinions on medical marijuana.
Green Party candidate Rich Whitney backs general legalization and said he'd sign a bill to legalize medical marijuana as "a positive first step."
On the opposite end of the spectrum are Republicans Bill Brady and Bob Schillerstrom, who oppose any easing of restrictions.
However Republican Jim Ryan said he'd be open to a narrowly-drawn bill that that would legalize medical marijuana. Governor Pat Quinn, a Democrat, agrees.
However Dan Hynes, Quinn's challenger in the Democratic primary, said he does not support marijuana legalization.
