ST. LOUIS – The Francis Howell School District will eliminate its year-round elementary school schedule next year.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reported that before a standing room crowd Thursday night, the school board voted 4-to-1, with two abstentions, to drop the 40-year-old policy.
The district says it was an economic decision, that reverting to a nine-month school year will save about $1 million a year.
