Diane Rehm, a public radio icon and the host of The Diane Rehm Show announced today that she will retire in 2016 after nearly 40 years on the air. According to JJ Yore, General Manager of WAMU, “Diane, WAMU and NPR are working together closely on what comes next, and [they] are in active conversations about WAMU’s plans for a successor program for the public radio morning audience…[They] are committed to finding a successor who will honor Diane’s legacy and the qualities listeners treasure about her show – civil discourse and deep conversations about the issues of the day with listeners as part of the conversation – while also reflecting changing audience needs and habits.” Rehm will continue in her hosting position through the 2016 Presidential election.

St. Louis Public Radio was one of the first stations to add Diane's show to our schedule in 1996 shortly after the program went into national distribution. Our audience for the program is among the highest in the country.

Diane Rehm will join St. Louis Public Radio's Don Marsh on March 18th, 2016 at the St. Louis County Library  for an onstage interview where they will discuss her new book "On My Own". For More information please visit slcl.org.
