Emanuele Berry
Former We Live Here Host and ProducerEmanuele Berry is a 2012 graduate of Michigan State University. Prior to coming to St. Louis she worked as a talk show producer at WKAR Public Radio in Michigan. Emanuele also interned at National Public Radio, where she worked at the Arts and Information Desk. Her work has been recognized by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Radio Television Digital News Association and the Hearst Journalism Awards Program. Berry worked with St. Louis Public Radio from 2014 to 2015.

We didn’t want to just tell another story about the inequalities that exist in our region. We wanted to tear into the issues, break apart the theory from the reality, demonstrate how the systemic problems that plague our region play out in real people’s lives. And we want to know why we still have these problems — no matter how much academic research and scholarly material there is available to explain the existence of racial inequality, why does it still exist? And so, we came up with We Live Here. -
Since a black man was shot to death by a white police officer in the St. Louis suburb, churches there have tried to reduce tension with dialogues on race and healing. That role was amplified Sunday.

A grand jury is expected to announce soon whether Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown, will be indicted. The city is on edge as everyone waits for the decision.
