Tom Livingston

Interim General Manager, St. Louis Public Radio

Tom Livingston is a public media leader and consultant with more than four decades of experience at local and national levels. He has served two terms as vice chairman of the NPR Board of Directors; is a past Chair of the Public Media Business Association; has managed three different public radio organizations, and has served in the Interim General Manager role for more than a dozen organizations, primarily public radio.

  • St. Louis Public Radio (STLPR) is continuing and intensifying efforts to build a more inclusive professional community with a focus on anti-racist principles and approaches, talent management and support. This work is being stewarded by the station’s senior leaders in partnership with the staff diversity, equity & inclusion workgroup, to fulfill our commitment to the vision for change by industry coalition Public Media for All.
  • The University of Missouri Office of General Counsel, in coordination with UMSL’s Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Tanisha Stevens, retained the Tueth Keeney law firm to conduct interviews of employees across all departments and seniority levels at the station. The firm completed those interviews and submitted its report to campus administration on November 19. Thirty-one individuals volunteered to participate. While an important component of the university’s review process, the Tueth Keeney report is just one of many actions that have been initiated by the university and station to address employee concerns.
