Letter To Memphis
While the city's name is in the name of the band, don't think Devon Cahill and Gene Starks are from there. In fact, they're from St. Louis. Their music does harken to the sounds of that place 250 miles south of the Gateway City, as well as a melange of other musical styles, mostly based in roots music. St. Louis Public Radio's Erin Williams talks to Cahill and Starks about how they got their name, their early days in performance and how they found music as a conduit to happiness, and then a way of life. They even play a few songs in-studio as well.
Songs performed:
"Tell Me I'm The Best"
"Never Look Back"
Sleepy Kitty:
"Hold Your Ground" (from the upcoming album "Projection Room")
"I Wanna Be Your Man"
