Vocalist Merv Shrock and keyboardist Jon Parsons met and wrote what would be their first album of songs in a short period of time. Mt. Thelonious was brought to our attention by jazz guitarist/vocalist/composer Tommy Halloran. Guitarist/vocalist Ian Lubar, violinist Alyssa Avery and bassist Mark Wallace play in a style that's really all their own. They talk to Nick Garcia about their first full-length release (which came out last year), playing on the road, and try to answer the question "what kind of band are you"? They'll also play some newer material, including a cover of an old Police song they make all their own.
