Earlier this month, business leaders and St. Louis City and County officials announced a new effort to support entrepreneurs and startup companies in the St. Louis region. The goal is to raise $100 million over the next five years.
The effort has received national attention from the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
Host Don Marsh, in the first of two shows devoted to the topic, talked with three people with different roles in St. Louis’ startup scene.
- Jim Brasunas, Executive Director of ITEN (Information Technology Entrepreneur Network), an umbrella organization for startups in St. Louis
- Dennis Lower, President and CEO of CORTEX (Center of Research Technology & Entrepreneurial Exchange), CORTEX is a business incubator
- Brian Matthews, General Partner at Cultivation Capital, a venture capital fund in St. Louis which invests in both technology and life sciences companies
