Seth Meyers joined “St. Louis on the Air” host Don Marsh to discuss his work as a comedian, actor and television host, as well as his appearance Friday at the Peabody Opera House.
Meyers’ performance will include humorous puns on his personal life and political anecdotes about politicians, such as Texas governor Rick Perry.
“The more personalities in the presidential election, the easier and better it is for people like me,” Meyers joked.
Among the gaffes of political figures, Meyers especially looks for political hypocrisy to add to his lineup. “The more you see these candidates talk and the more you see them get interviewed,” he said, “the more likely you are to catch them saying something completely contradictory to something they said in the past.”
“I’ve been doing stand-up for years, and it’s something that I still enjoy all these years into it,” Meyers said. “Spending over an hour with an audience full of people is still a thrill that you can’t get anywhere else.”
Meyers also discussed working with comedian Tina Fey, what it’s like being the host of “Late Night,” his days of working on “Saturday Night Live” and his humorous view of the Republican Party.
