Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but what about the ear? What defines what’s musically beautiful? The Chamber Project St. Louis is exploring the concept by digging beneath the surface and asking questions about what should be considered beautiful, who gets to decide and why it matters.
Their BEAUTY at CAM concert on Nov. 22 sets to redefine the ideals of music. It will include the world premiere of a commissioned piece by St. Louis musician and composer Syrhea Conaway, also known as Syna So Pro. She is currently the DJ in Residence at the Contemporary Art Museum.
Also on the program is a work by Sri Lankan-Canadian composer Dinuk Wijeratne and one of the classics in the art form, Johannes Brahms.
On Friday’s St. Louis on the Air, host Sarah Fenske learned more about the Chamber Project’s upcoming concert and its 12th season with its executive director, Dana Hotle, and Syna So Pro.
