The past few months have shifted recycling practices in St. Louis and elsewhere. There’s been a decrease in commercial product as workplaces resorted to work-from-home models — and an uptick in residential recycling.
That presents both advantages and challenges for area recycling plants, including Hazelwood-based Republic Services. Workers are noticing more cardboard, disposable personal protective equipment — and more of the dreaded plastic bag.
