After a man killed eight people in Atlanta, six of them Asian women, Asian Americans in St. Louis are on heightened alert for hate crimes and discrimination. Community leaders want Asian Americans to understand that they can report racist acts to authorities.

Asian American leaders in the St. Louis region are decrying a rise in racist comments reported by people in their communities. They are raising the alarm just days after authorities charged a man with killing eight people, most of them Asian women, at three Atlanta spas.
