The bills seek to regulate — or restrict — provisions around who can vote and how, the way votes are counted and other matters related to election security.

Legislation filed by Missouri Sen. Ben Brown, a Republican from Washington, would also roll back state oversight. Sen. Maggie Nurrenbern, a Democrat from Kansas City, said she is concerned about “simply not knowing which students are being homeschooled.”

The Eureka Democrat is running for the 26th Senate District seat, which includes St. Louis, Franklin, Gasconade, Osage and Warren counties.

The Washington Republican won a crowded GOP primary for the 26th Senate District, which takes in parts of St. Louis County and all of Franklin, Warren, Osage and Gasconade counties.
