St. Louis City SC became just the fourth MLS expansion team to win its first two games. The first home game was a dream come true for many soccer fans in St. Louis and throughout the region.

St. Louis City SC is the official name of St. Louis’ Major League Soccer team. The crest features the Gateway Arch and wavy lines that signify the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. The colors — red and navy blue — were inspired by St. Louis’ flag. On Friday’s "St. Louis on the Air," club CEO Carolyn Kindle Betz joined host Sarah Fenske to talk about why "city" was chosen and to explain what’s next.

The local Major League Soccer team will begin play in 2023, sporting red, blue, white and yellow colors.
