The Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act requires employers to provide five paid days off per year that can be used for any reason. City employees not covered by union already earned one week of vacation and 104 hours of sick time per year.

“Multiple others were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, four by helicopter and at least 10 by ambulance," according to Illinois State Police.
