The number of Black residents in the St. Louis region has slightly increased over the past year. New U.S. Census data shows there are about 2,900 more African Americans in the area. Despite that rise, St. Louis city’s Black population is declining.

Many Illinois measures will now head to Gov. J.B. Pritzker, including a bill that changes how damages accrue under Illinois’ first-in-the-nation biometric data privacy law.

The nonprofit purchased properties to renovate or demolish existing houses and to construct new ones like those in the housing development, a 20-home subdivision called Lansdowne Park.

The State-level Community Reinvestment Act was finally mired in the rulemaking process.
