The University of Missouri Office of General Counsel, in coordination with UMSL’s Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Tanisha Stevens, retained the Tueth Keeney law firm to conduct interviews of employees across all departments and seniority levels at the station. The firm completed those interviews and submitted its report to campus administration on November 19. Thirty-one individuals volunteered to participate. While an important component of the university’s review process, the Tueth Keeney report is just one of many actions that have been initiated by the university and station to address employee concerns.

Public Media For All, a coalition of public media workers from across the country, have designated November 10 as a day of action and education, with activities including social media messaging, on-air mentions and educational opportunities, as well as promoting a three-year, public commitment to engage in a series of action items that support diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within stations and other public media organizations.

Livingston was selected by and will report to the University of Missouri - St. Louis Chancellor Kristin Sobolik to provide interim leadership to St. Louis Public Radio.

Tim Eby (pictured), the former general manager at St. Louis Public Radio, was removed from his post Thursday after coming under fire alongside other station leaders for allegations of a “legacy of structural racism” at the station. Tom Livingston, a two-time former vice chairman of the National Public Radio Board of Directors and chief executive officer of Livingston Associates, becomes interim general manager.
