Democratic incumbent Sam Page beat his Republican challenger Mark Mantovani.

Sam Page and Mark Mantovani previously ran against each other in the Democratic primary for County Executive in 2020. They are now facing off in the general election for the same seat with Mantovani running as a Republican.

A county executive candidates debate Tuesday night was the only one of the campaign season between incumbent Democrat Sam Page and Republican challenger Mark Mantovani.

Mantovani was picked as the replacement GOP nominee in the St. Louis County executive’s contest. He’ll square off against incumbent Democratic County Executive Sam Page in November.

Mark Mantovani unsuccessfully ran for county executive in 2018 and 2020 as a Democrat. He won the nomination on Monday to replace Katherine Pinner as the Republican nominee.

St. Louis County Executive Sam Page emerged victorious in the Democratic primary for the county’s top elected position Tuesday, beating back a bruising and expensive challenge from three opponents.
