For 10 days this winter, students at Washington University worked around the clock to create adaptive devices for people with disabilities.

There were more applicants local to St. Louis in the finalist round this year than in the past. And the majority of the awardees came from the region.

The new building adds 64,500 square feet of research and production space, including a certified clean room.
