Grafton’s mayor said the city has raised about $130,000 so far. If the city meets its goals, it will finish the new memorial, museum and plaza in the next four years.

The goal of the nonprofit Veterans Community Project of St. Louis is to help transition homeless veterans to permanent housing.

Capt. Eleanor “Ellie” Cooke was one of two pilots. “We’re very proud of her, and by giving her life, she saved 20 other people,” Cooke's mother said.

For Women’s History Month, Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost, who leads the U.S. Transportation Command based at Scott Air Force Base, discussed her experience as a woman in the military at an event Monday.

On a near daily basis, the U.S. Transportation Command loads planes, ships and vehicles with supplies bound for Ukraine.

The facility will include a first-ever innovation center, where people without security clearances can work alongside NGA staff on problems or issues the agency regularly grapples with.

“Logistics is very important to any operation, and I think our logistics prowess has shown itself over and over again,” said Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost.
