Matt Mitchell, a former Illinois State Trooper who pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter of two Metro East sisters in 2007, abandoned his efforts to have a hearing into the restoration of his driving privileges — for now.

“The only thing that Bob loved more than the city and O’Fallon citizens was his family,” said current O'Fallon, Illinois Mayor Herb Roach. “Bob was one of those people that once he knew that you needed some help, he was there asking what he could do."
