Juan McCoy, formerly of the East St. Louis Police Department, was indicted Wednesday in connection with the incident, which occurred in October of 2019.

“My son was bleeding like a slaughtered pig,” the man’s mom said about the beating.

The findings were backed by the independent review of the Illinois State Police and O’Fallon-Metro East Chapter of the NAACP.
